I am a PhD candidate in Textual and Digital Studies at the University of Maryland College Park (www.umd.edu). My dissertation, titled ‘Visualizing Transmedia Networks: Links, Paths, Peripheries’ (expected defense: Fall 2011), explores the possibilities of network or graph-based analyses of transmedia practices, particularly the expansive and interconnected development of fictional narratives and universes. I have published and presented extensively on the subject of transmedia expression, and when I'm not forcibly tethered to my dissertation, I am working on a Spring 2011 launch for www.THINKtransmedia.org, a community-oriented web resource dedicated to the study and use of transmedia frameworks in education and literacy frameworks.
