I am a PhD candidate in American history at the University of Pennsylvania, where I am completing a dissertation about friendships between men and women in the early American republic. I have benefited from using Zotero to keep track of references and to organize and connect sources during the writing process. I also use technology extensively in my teaching and taught an online course with Penn's new online learning commons in summer 2010.

I previous worked in new media and scholarly publications at the Smithsonian Institution, where I worked on websites, databases, podcasts, handheld guides, an online catalogue raisonne, and a traditional print journal. I am committed to using technology to extend the public reach of humanities scholarship.
